Where does Shilpi Haat source its products from?

Shilpi Haat curates an inspired collection from across India, from renowned artisans, master craftsmen, NGOs, art & craft clusters which create the most stunning handcrafted products in India. We feature various events - a curated collection of products from craftsmen and also feature products under various Arts & Crafts Categories. 


There seems to be a "reservation time" for products added in my shopping bag, why?

Placing an available/in stock product(s) to your shopping bag does not reserve the product for you. As our features are limited time exclusives and mostly feature unique and one-of-a-kind creations, the system allows you to reserve the product(s) in your shopping bag for 30 minutes only.  

You would need to checkout your purchase within the stipulated time or else the product(s) go back to our inventory and are available for purchase by any other user(s) after 30 minutes. If you really love a product, beat them all to the checkout first!

Product Reservation Policy

Customers have the option to add a product to the cart and reserve it up to 30 minutes.

The reservation time limit of 30 minutes is offered to the customer(s) as most of the products are unique & more quantity of some or most of the products may not exist at all. This ensures that all customers have a fair and equal chance to buy the product(s). The product(s) are removed from the cart after 30 minutes and added back to their respective exhibition or feature catalog, and made available for other people to purchase. 


Do I have to create an account to shop with you?

Yes you do, but it’s simple to do and allows you to order easily without having to fill in your details every time you shop with us. You will also receive benefits such as order tracking, regular newsletters, and exclusive discount/promos and special offers.

You can join now, or you can start shopping straight away and set up your account when you add a product to your cart – whichever suits you best. Just follow the easy steps on screen to fill out your information and head over to adding the product to our cart to continue shopping.


What is Sign Up Credit and how can I redeem it towards my purchase with Shilpi Haat?

When you sign up with Shilpi Haat, you receive a Sign Up Surprise Credit in your account! You can sign up directly on the website or through one of your social logins such as Facebook, Twitter Or Google+ Account. You can use this credit towards a purchase or order that you make with us. To check your Sign Up Credit once you have signed up as a user on the website, click on your Account and under the drop down menu click on "Invite Friends" and under this section click on the "Credit" tab.

It's easy to use your Credit on the website, once you add products to your shopping cart, you will see your available credits under the products/items and you can use your credit against the subtotal of the order. Please note the credit that can be applied to an individual order depends on the total value of the order and a requisite credit amount will be redeemed as you proceed to checkout once you have applied your account credit to the order.

As a customer I hope that the quality of the products is good as it appears and while shipped?

Shilpi Haat pays attention to every little detail to bring you immaculate quality products. The catalog is a reflection of what you’ll receive. As products are handcrafted by various artisans, craftsmen or NGOs we guarantee the authenticity and quality of the products. 

Most or all of our products are hand-crafted by artisans, craftsmen across India & irregularities are a part of the creation itself.


I forgot my password. Can you tell me what it is?

We keep passwords secret!  Passwords are encrypted by our system, so even we can't see them. But we always have a way to reset the password, just in case you forgot it. Follow the simple steps below to have your password reset and sent to you -

Click on "Forgot your password" link, enter your email address and hit "Send Password" .   A new password will be sent to youre registered email ID!

What are the payment options available with ShilpiHaat?

We offer convenient payment options to all customers.

For International Customers - All payments must be made by credit card. We accept American Express, Mastercard and Visa. Currently only valid internationals credit cards are accepted for International Orders.

If you are in India - you can choose to pay for our products online using Credit Card, Debit Card, or NetBanking. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Maestro Credit and Debit Cards.  You can also choose to pay in cash when the products are delivered at your doorstep by choosing the Cash On Delivery option on the website - we offer Cash on Delivery for major Indian cities & towns.


How do I make a payment online using my Credit Card?

Shilpi Haat accepts all Visa, MasterCard and American Express Credit Cards for the purchase on the site. When making the payment using your Credit Card at the checkout, you will need to enter the following information to process your payment:

You’ll need to enter your credit card number, card expiry date, 3 Digit CVV number – the Card Verification Value number – found on the rear side of your Credit Card, and the online 3D Secure Password.

After you have entered the information and your payment starts to process, the payment gateway re-directs you to the Bank’s Webpage to confirm your 3D Secure Password and complete your payment.


How do I make a payment online using my Debit Card? ( For Indian customers )

Shilpi Haat accepts all Debit Cards from the trusted and leading banks across India. When making the payment using your Debit Card at the checkout, you will need to enter the following information to process your payment:

You’ll need to enter the 16 digit debit card number, card expiry date (optional for Maestro Cards), the 3 Digit CVV number (optional for Maestro Cards) at the checkout page.

You will be finally redirected by the Payment Gateway to your Bank’s Webpage to confirm your online password issued to you by the Bank to complete your payment.


Is it safe to use my Credit Card online on

Shilpi Haat understands that your personal online security is of utmost importance.

  1. We use the latest SSL Encryption technology to store and safely transmit your personal and credit card information through our systems. 
  2. We do not store any billing information. We securely pass on the information to the Payment Gateways managed by the most trusted Banks to charge your card or account.
  3. All orders are processed through a secure checkout system.
  4. Additionally, our payment gateway service provider will also confirm your billing address on file with your credit card company with the one you provide at the checkout, for safety and fraud protection.
  5. Most leading banks require you also to enter an online password (called the 3D Secure Password) which is required to protect your Card or Account from fraudulent use.
  6. Such a password is generated by leading banks and credit card companies and remain confidential to the owner which adds another layer of security once you authorize your payment online safely. 

What is the 3D Secure Password?

The 3D Secure Password is also known as the “VBV – Verified By Visa” or “MasterCard Secure Code”. It’s a free security service offered for Credit Cards by Visa and MasterCard, partnered with Card issuing Banks across the world to secure your online Card Transactions by issuing an additional confidential password to the users.

If you don’t have a 3D Secure Password, you can contact your bank and register for one to ensure your online payment are secure and safe. 


How long does it take for an order to be processed and shipped?

We process your order as soon as we receive it. We’ve partnered with UPS and Fedex, so our shipping is swift and reliable. Most items in stock / warehouse after being shipped will be delivered within 5-7 working days or sometimes even sooner!

As Shilpi Haat sources from artisans, NGOs, Master Craftsmen across the length and breadth of India, shipping times may vary for some products. We recommend to look for the shipping information / delivery timeline for the respective product to ascertain the estimated delivery or arrival of your order.
Further, As soon as your order ships, you will also be sent Shipping Tracking Information, using which you can track your shipment and assess the approximate delivery time.
For all International Orders we have partnered with UPS & Fedex to ship order to other countries. Within India we have partnered with reputed shipping companies like BlueDart & Fedex to ship orders to major cities and towns.

Where all does Shilpi Haat ship its products?

Shilpi Haat ships all over the world. We ship our orders all over the world through reputed international shipping companies like UPS, Fedex & BlueDart , DHL.  ShilpiHaat however does not ship to APO or PO box addresses. Shipping within India to major cities and other towns is also available.

How much does ShilpiHaat charge for shipping?

The shipping charges depend upon your order. Shipping charges are calcuated at the checkout.

For all International Orders we have a shipping chart to which customers can refer to for calculating their order(s) shipping charges. Please refer to the Shipping Page for International Shipments & Orders.

For Indian Orders - shipping within India is FREE for all orders above Rs.2000 ; for orders below Rs. 2000 we charge a flat shipping fee of Rs. 100.

I hope my order reaches me in time and in safe condition?

We strive to deliver all orders within the time frame mentioned on the shipping tab of the respective products. We have partnered with BlueDart, Fedex for shipping within India & UPS and Fedex for international shipping to ship our products and ensure great packaging of the products you purchase from us! We pride ourselves in taking care of your order, ensuring it reaches you in great condition and without any damage.

However, in the event that your product received was in a bad condition, was damaged or the packaging was tampered with – we request you to get in touch with our Customer Service Team by writing to us at or give us a ring at +91.120.2497601 to speak to our Customer Service Team.

We offer a Hassle-Free 7 Day Return Policy to all our Members. Our Return Policy strives to be as flexible as possible for our members whilst allowing us a little room to provide exquisite merchandise and access to the fabulous world of crafts and handicrafts from around India. While most products might be eligible for return, some unique and exclusive products may not be eligible for returns, such product sale is termed as "final sale" and we recommend you to check the "How do I reach you" tab under the product description page to check whether the product you wish to purchase is eligible for return or not.
